What is the Technical Track?
The Technical Track is designed for students who are passionate about the behind-the-scenes side of music and live events. Students learn how to support artists and productions through audio engineering, live sound, recording, lighting design, video production, and event technology.
What careers will the Technical Track prepare me for?
Graduates may pursue careers as live sound engineers, recording engineers, audio technicians, production managers, lighting designers, video directors, tour crew members, and live event production specialists.
Will I receive training in live sound, recording, and audio engineering?
Yes. Technical Track students receive hands-on training in live sound, studio recording, audio engineering, concert production, and other production technologies used throughout today's music and entertainment industries.
How much hands-on learning is included in the program?
Hands-on learning is at the heart of the CMC experience. Students regularly work with professional equipment, support live productions, participate in weekly events, and play key roles in executing the semester-ending Road Tour.
Will CMC connect me with industry professionals?
Absolutely. Students learn from faculty who actively work in the industry and regularly interact with guest speakers, alumni, touring professionals, producers, engineers, and other leaders within Nashville's entertainment community.
